Published at : October 12, 2021
Dr. Rishi Raj feels that one can really live a fulfilling life if one finds a thrill in whatever they do. Research on Heat Transfer in zero gravity is one heck of a thrill in itself but it is not 'the thrill' Dr. Rishi talks about, it is the cyclic process of thinking, hypothesizing, researching and iterating that Dr. Rishi feels is the true 'thrill' of his life. Dr. Rishi Raj is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Patna. Prior to this, he was a Postdoctoral Associate at the Device Research Laboratory in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). With five patents and more than 50 research papers published, Dr Rishi has made significant contributions to the fields of Energy, Boiling Condensation, Micro-/Nano-Scale Thermal and Fluidic Transport, Colloids and Interface Science, and Microgravity Science. He has also been a recipient of the Medal for Young Scientist which is awarded by the Indian National Science Academy, and a recipient of INAE Young Engineer Award. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
